How to travel by train in the IDS JMK
How do I buy a ticket?
The most common way to pay is by purchasing a ticket using a bank card or a "IDS JMK Wallet" at a validator on the platform. A validator is a small yellow machine with a screen. It doesn’t print paper tickets, the ticket is linked to the card used for payment and is shown to the train conductor, bus driver, or inspector when requested. Validators sell IDS JMK tickets for travel within the South Moravian Region. A detailed guide on how to use validators is available. Another convenient option is to buy a ticket through the POSEIDON mobile app. A key advantage is that you can cancel the ticket for free at any time before it's activated. A third option is to continue using paper tickets, which must be validated in a validator before boarding. Paper tickets are sold at IDS JMK Contact Centres and authorized retailers. You can also buy one from a bus driver.
What if I don’t manage to buy a ticket before the train departs?
If you miss the chance to buy a ticket before boarding, on train lines S2, S21, S3, S4, S41, S51, S52, S8, S91, and selected S9 trains, you will have another opportunity onboard. Near the doors marked with a green stripe and the sign “Tickets – Info – Tickets,” there is a red ticket machine that works like the validators on the platform. On other train lines, the conductor will sell you a ticket. However, starting February 2025, you’ll have to pay a 50 CZK surcharge for buying a ticket from the conductor.
What if the validator or ticket machine is out of order?
If the validator is not working and there’s no other way to buy a ticket, you may board the train and purchase your ticket from the onboard machine. If you’re charged a surcharge, you can later file a complaint. If the validator’s malfunction is confirmed, the surcharge will be refunded. Note: This doesn’t apply if the validator is working but your card isn’t accepted – this is not considered a machine fault.
I don’t understand the validator at all. Can someone help me?
Absolutely! You can visit the IDS JMK Contact Centre in Brno (under the main train station), where they have a demo validator and will explain everything. You can also ask the conductor on the train for help – they’ll show you how to use the machine.
I bought a ticket using the validator – how can I check that it’s valid?
On any validator (train or city transport), press the “My Card” button in the lower left corner, then tap your card. You’ll see all currently valid tickets. If your ticket isn’t active yet, it won’t be shown.
How can I buy a ticket if I don’t have a bank card or can’t use a smartphone?
Paper tickets are still available. You can buy them at 14 IDS JMK Contact Centres, ticket offices at some stations (Blansko, Břeclav, Hodonín, Vyškov), from regional bus drivers, from DPMB machines in Brno, at kiosks, and other outlets. We recommend buying a universal ticket (180 CZK / 90 CZK discounted), often called a “harmonica.” It can replace any single-use ticket – just punch the correct number of fields.
What if I don’t have a bank card, I’m starting my journey by train, and I don’t have a paper ticket in advance?
You’ll need to board the train and buy a ticket from the conductor when they arrive. A 50 CZK surcharge will apply.
What is a IDS JMK wallet?
It’s a key fob or card that works like an anonymous bank card for paying IDS JMK fares. You can load it with small amounts of cash and use it in validators and ticket machines. You can load it at a contact centre with the conductor, or via the e-shop, onboard machines, or platform validators.
I’m over 70 and don’t understand the new rules at all!
No worries – just board the train and ask the conductor for a 1-day ticket for passengers over 70, which costs 40 CZK. It’s valid for 24 hours across all IDS JMK services (trains, buses, urban transport). You can take a bike or dog (where allowed), and there’s no surcharge.
I have a disability pass (ZTP). Has anything changed for me?
No changes – transportation within IDS JMK remains free, and you don’t need a ticket.
What about trips outside the region – how do I buy a ticket?
On lines S2, S21, S3, S4, S41, S51, S52, S8, S91, and selected S9 trains, you can buy a OneTicket from the onboard machine. It allows travel from your departure point to any train station in the Czech Republic. It’s more expensive, but valid across all train operators. The conductor can also sell you a OneTicket. Note: From February 2025, buying OneTicket onboard (where machines are available) will cost 50 CZK more. The cheapest option is to buy a ticket in advance via the train operator’s e-shop or app for the journey from a regional hub (e.g. Brno, Vyškov, Břeclav, Hodonín) to your final destination. Then use an IDS JMK ticket for the first part of the trip to the hub.
Will I be charged a surcharge if there’s no validator at the station or it’s broken?
No. If the validator or onboard machine is out of order, the conductor will sell you a ticket without any surcharge. If you were charged, you can file a complaint, and KORDIS will refund the surcharge.
How do I travel from Adamov to Kroměříž?
At Adamov station, use the platform validator to buy a ticket from Adamov to Vyškov using your bank card (via trip search). In Brno, either at the counter during your transfer or directly from the conductor on the express train, buy a Vyškov–Kroměříž ticket without a surcharge. If you prefer not to deal with ticket purchases mid-trip, just buy a OneTicket from the onboard machine for the full route: Adamov–Kroměříž.
How do I travel from Blansko to Znojmo?
Both cities are within IDS JMK. So, at Blansko station, you can use a validator to buy a full-zone ticket with your card or use the trip search in the validator to buy a recommended ticket. In Brno, take tram 12 to Zvonařka, then board regional bus 108 to Znojmo. At all times, just show the same card you used in Blansko.
How do I buy tickets for my dog and bike?
The same way as for yourself. When selecting your ticket, choose the Discount A ticket for your dog. For a bike, buy either an all-zone day ticket (80 CZK) or a 4-hour ticket (40 CZK). For short trips to neighboring zones, buy a regular base fare ticket for the bike.
Are there any family-friendly weekend tickets in the validator or machine?
Yes! On weekends, the basic 24-hour ticket is valid for 2 adults + 3 children. Perfect for a family day out, including the dog!
Discounted season titckets for students – september 2025

Why get a season ticket?
Because it saves you a lot of money! With a season ticket, you don’t have to pay or count individual fares. You can travel without limits within the prepaid zones for the entire validity of the ticket. For example: In Brno, youth over 15 and students aged 18–26 must pay 100% of the fare for each ride. But if they buy a season ticket, they get it for half the price compared to regular passengers! Let’s do the math: A monthly student pass costs 275 CZK. A single ride in Brno usually costs 25 CZK. So the monthly pass pays off after just 11 rides per month! A quarterly or annual pass saves you even more. If you're commuting to Brno from nearby towns, the 50% student discount also applies to regional zones.
How to buy the ticket?
Just remember: eshop.idsjmk.cz/en. All IDS JMK season tickets are electronic only. They are linked to: your bank card (physical or mobile), or a Transport Card IDS JMK available for 30 CZK at IDS JMK Contact Centres . Although you can buy a ticket in person, it’s easier to register online at the e-shop.It works like any other online shop - enter your name, surname, place of residence, upload a photo necessary to verify that the ticket is being used by the right person. Next, enter the ticket carrier - either a valid bank card number or a code from the IDS JMK Transport Card. If you would like to use the card on your mobile phone, you must go to the contact center to read its number. The bank card number is presented to the code by a certified banking company, so it is not recorded anywhere and cannot be misused. Next, select the required type of ticket in the e-shop and purchase it. For the city of Brno, a ticket for zones 100+101 is required, even if you are only traveling in one zone. For youth and students, it is absolutely necessary to verify your entitlement to a discount. Please read the instructions below! How to verify discount eligibility?
To buy a discounted student season ticket, you must set the appropriate discount category during registration.Youth under 18 and students 18–26 must verify their eligibility within 5 days of purchase.
Youth under 18 years of age can verify their entitlement to a discount by simply uploading an ID or visiting the contact center in person.
Students aged 18 to 26 must also prove their identity and that they are students. The discount for using public transport in Brno is provided only to students who are studying at a secondary school, conservatory, higher vocational school, university in full-time or part-time form of study in the Czech Republic or whose studies, in terms of content and scope, are equivalent to studies at these schools, or have a similar status abroad, including students in a one-year post-secondary foreign language course with full-time weekly classes with granted student status. The right to a discount is proven by online verification through participating schools or an ISIC card issued for the given school year. Students who have reached the age of 18 must prove their right to a discount within 90 days of their 18th birthday. Online verification usually takes 1-2 business days. The student is verified through the school system or ISIC immediately.
On regional buses and trains, including the journey to Brno, it is sufficient to request the purchase of a season ticket without Brno city transport to prove entitlement to a discount. In such a case, every student aged 18-26 who presents a valid ISIC card or orange Student ID card is entitled to a discounted ticket.
What happens if I don't prove my claim for the discount on time?
If the claim for the discount is not proven within the prescribed period or if the claim expires, the ticket valid for Brno city transport will be converted to the basic fare without the discount. The remaining validity period will be halved.
In the event of failure to prove the claim for the discount within the prescribed period or upon expiry of the claim, the ticket valid for regional transport is blocked and cannot be used any further. The customer has the option of requesting a refund of the amount calculated according to the rules for refunding subscription tickets in the IDS JMK Contractual Transport Conditions.
What are the discounts on single tickets?
Two discounts on single tickets have been introduced in the IDS JMK. Discounted A tickets can be used by young people and students aged 15 to 26 for travel on regional buses and trains, but they cannot be used for travel on Brno's urban transport in Brno. They will therefore reach Brno, but in Brno they must buy another ticket at full price or walk. Discounted B tickets can then be used by these groups of passengers for travel on Brno's urban transport.
Summary of rules for student season tickets
- Are you studying at a university in Brno? Then travel with a monthly, quarterly, or annual travel card. It pays for itself after just 11 trips around Brno per month. Without a prepaid ticket, you pay the full fare (Basic or Discounted B ticket), but with a travel card, you get a 50% discount.
- Register and purchase tickets via eshop.idsjmk.cz. The ticket will be linked to your bank card, even if it is on your mobile phone or watch. You can also use a Transport Card or IDS JMK key fob.
- Entitlement to a discount is proven in the e-shop exclusively by presenting an ISIC card or, in the case of participating schools, by entering an online verification code.
- The rules differ for Brno and the rest of the region. In Brno, the ISIC must always be valid for the current school year. Outside Brno or for travel to Brno, the ISIC is accepted according to its actual validity date. So if you still have a valid ISIC from the previous school year, you can travel around the region and get to the center of Brno, but you cannot travel on public transport within Brno!
- If the ISIC card is not valid during regular automatic online verification and the prepaid ticket is issued only for zones 100+101, its validity will be reduced by half. After proving eligibility, the validity will be extended again. If, with an invalid ISIC, the season ticket is issued for at least one zone outside Brno, it will cease to be valid and the customer is entitled to a refund of the fare under the conditions specified in the contractual conditions of carriage.
- If the ISIC card is valid but has not been renewed for the current school year, students can continue to travel on trains and regional buses with their prepaid ticket, but cannot use public transport in Brno.
- To prove your ticket, we recommend using a plastic bank card or non-bank transport card or IDS JMK key fob (costing CZK 30 and available from the IDS JMK Contact Center). Cards in mobile phones or watches must be loaded at the contact center. In addition, phone updates sometimes change the card and then the ticket does not work.
- On trains and regional buses jyou must always show proof of payment ((bank or non-bank card). QR codes and oother forms of confirmation of a prepaid ticket are not accepted.
- If you need to buy a travel card immediately, you have the option of assigning yourself a discount entitlement for 5 days (in the e-shop, on the page where you purchase prepaid tickets). You must then verify your personal data within 5 days either at the contact center or online in order to subsequently use the online student status verification function (otherwise, your discount category will expire with the consequences described above).
- To verify your discount at eshop.idsjmk.cz you do not need to visit the IDS JMK Contact Center; you can do everything from the comfort of your own home. If you already have verified personal data, simply log in to eshop.idsjmk.cz, click on "Verification and discount claims" in the "My account" section, and use the "Verify student status" button. Here, simply enter your ISIC number or, for participating schools, the relevant school identifier. Verification is carried out shortly after submission, and if successful, you will immediately be eligible for a discount. If you do not yet have verified personal data, you can use the "Remote verification of personal data using a photo of your ID card" function in the same section, which is usually processed within one to two business days, after which you will receive confirmation of verification by email. You can then easily resolve the above-mentioned verification of your student status.
IDS JMK wallet
What is it used for?
It is an alternative to a bank card. It can be anonymous or assigned to an account at eshop.idsjmk.cz. It can be used to pay for single tickets in orange validators at train stations, in red ticket machines, in validators on buses in Znojmo, on selected regional bus lines with boarding through all doors in the Brno area, and with conductors on trains. The option of paying regional bus drivers at ticket offices is currently being prepared. Due to the older type of validators, it will not yet be possible to pay with it on DPMB vehicles.
What does it look like and how much does it cost?
It is a plastic card, key ring, or sticker – at a uniform price of CZK 30. These carriers can be used together as a carrier for both subscription and single-use tickets, and at the same time, they can be loaded with money to pay for single-use tickets.
Where can I buy a IDS JMK wallet and how do I top it up?
You can buy a IDS JMK wallet primarily at IDS JMK Contact Centers and also from conductors on trains. Conductors are equipped with only a limited number of cards, so the second option may not always be available. There are several ways to top up your wallet: after registering at eshop.idsjmk.cz (payment by card or bank transfer), at IDS JMK Contact Centers (payment by card or cash), at orange validators on platforms or in regional buses, at red ticket machines on trains (payment by card), and from conductors (payment by cash or card). For security reasons, passengers are not allowed to have a balance of more than CZK 250 on their IDS JMK wallet. The IDS JMK wallet can be used to pay if the balance is higher than CZK 30. This is to protect against negative balances.
What is the difference between an anonymous and a registered wallet?
An anonymous wallet does not require registration and can be used and topped up immediately. The disadvantage is that if lost, the customer cannot recover the balance. A registered wallet is then assigned to a specific account at eshop.idsjmk.cz (the account owner does not have to be the wallet holder) and if lost, a new wallet can be purchased and the current balance transferred to it.
What should you watch out for?
If you use a card, key fob, or sticker as your prepaid ticket carrier and are over 15 years of age, please note that prepaid tickets are not accepted on DPMB vehicles in Brno. Only single-use and tourist tickets are accepted. It is also not possible to purchase tickets using the Dopravní peněženka (IDS JMK wallet) app on DPMB vehicles.
How do I register my IDS JMK wallet if I already have a profile on eshop.idsjmk.cz?
It is possible to add it as an additional ticket carrier for a given customer.
Is the IDS JMK wallet transferable or can it only be used by the person to whom it is registered?
The IDS JMK wallet is transferable regardless of who it is registered to. However, any loss or refund must be dealt with by the person to whose account it is registered. If it also happens to contain a prepaid ticket, then it is only valid for the person in whose name it was sold.
What to do if you lose your IDS JMK wallet?
If the passenger has no registration, we do not refund the balance of the wallet. If they have a simplified registration (email and phone number), we will verify that the phone number or email address really belongs to the applicant, and when refunding money or transferring funds to a new wallet, we will record their ID card number. If the IDS JMK wallet is registered to a specific person and that person requests a refund or transfer to another wallet, we will make the transfer without any complications. Please note! Request a transfer of funds or blocking of the wallet as soon as possible after discovering the loss. If someone else starts using the wallet for payment, we cannot refund the balance used in this way.
What if a customer wants to be registered so that they can transfer or withdraw their balance in case of card loss, but at the same time needs the card to be transferable (e.g., for a family member)?
Anyone can use the IDS JMK Wallet for payment and as a carrier of single-use tickets, regardless of registration. However, money transfers to a new wallet and refunds must always be made by the account owner to whom the IDS JMK Wallet is registered. Anyone can top up the wallet.
If a customer only wants to enter their email address and phone number (so that they can top up their wallet via the e-shop), but the email address is already registered, what should they do?
Either the customer chooses a different email address, or the IDS JMK wallet is assigned to the account with the given email address. However, the customer must prove that they have access to the given email address (i.e. that it belongs to them).
How eshop.idsjmk.cz works?
Prepaid tickets (i.e., monthly, quarterly, and annual tickets) are sold exclusively in electronic form. Passengers do not have a paper ticket to show when traveling, but present an electronic medium – a bank card or non-bank medium – to which the ticket is assigned in the KORDIS JMK central system. In the case of bank cards, it is possible to have the ticket assigned to a physical plastic card or to a mobile phone or watch (Apple Pay or Google Pay). The most convenient way to purchase prepaid tickets is via eshop.idsjmk.cz/en/
Single-use and tourist tickets can be purchased either electronically via the POSEIDON or via eshop.idsjmk.cz/en/, but it is still possible to purchase them in paper form at ticket offices, from drivers, or from train staff. Purchases made via POSEIDON using prepaid credit are discounted.
Register for the eshop
You can buy all tickets in our eshop eshop.idsjmk.cz/en/. It is most commonly used to purchase season tickets (monthly, quarterly, or annual). To do so, you must first register. You can register either from home on our e-shop or in person at the IDS JMK contact center. When registering, you will need to enter:
Each person must have their own registration and their own ticket carrier linked to their own email address, including children. If you do not wish to use a separate email address, it is possible to create a subordinate, so-called dependent account under an existing account and registered email address – see below for details.
The POSEIDON application is intended for purchasing single tickets, so it cannot be used for subscription tickets. It is not connected to the e-shop.
Data verification
To ensure that the information entered in the profile matches a real person, it is necessary to verify this data in the system. You can upload the necessary documents directly into the system without having to visit a customer service center. You are required to upload an identity document and a photo of the person for whom the profile was created in the e-shop. Document upload is done in the My Account section, under the Basic Information tab. At the bottom of the page, you will find buttons to upload attachments. For adults, please upload an ID card in the form of an image (or a PDF document). The maximum file size is 15 MB. For children (under 15) who do not have an ID card, you can upload a passport, birth certificate, or health insurance card. CForeign nationals may upload a valid ID document from their home country, or a residence permit. You can upload up to 6 files in total. Allowed formats are: jpg, jpeg, jpe, png, gif, or pdf. Uploaded documents will be used exclusively by authorized personnel to verify the accuracy of the submitted personal data. Once the verification is complete, all uploaded files will be permanently and irreversibly deleted. If you prefer not to upload documents online, you can visit one of our customer service centers, where our staff will verify your information and take your photo on the spot.
Registration at customer service centers
If you registered in person at one of our Customer Service Centers, you can log in to the system from home using the email address you provided during registration and the one-time password "salina".You can change this password in your profile after logging in. This is a first-time login password and is valid for 7 days from the date of registration. If you do not change it within this period, it will expire. If you try to log in after the password has expired, please request a new one via the “Forgot password” button on the login page. A link to reset your password will be sent to your email immediately.
Can I register multiple users under one email address?
No, each user must have their own individual email address, including children. If they do not have an email address, you may use any email you choose or create a new one for them.
How do I verify my account after registration?
You can upload your identity documents to the system and our staff will verify your details. Alternatively, if you prefer not to upload documents online you can visit one of our customer service centers, where our staff will verify your identity and take a photo on-site. Temporarily unverified information does not affect the validity of your ticket. For minors, you may upload a birth certificate or another official identification document.
How long does the verification process take?
Since the verification is carried out manually by a staff member who checks your documents against the data entered in the system, it may take some time. However, unverified data does not affect ticket validity, and you can still purchase and use tickets as usual.
Ticket carriers for season tickets
To purchase and later validate a season ticket, you must first add a ticket carrier to the system. Ticket carriers are divided into bank and non-bank types. A bank ticket carrier refers to a named bank card in physical form or in a mobile wallet, or an anonymous bank card sold at customer service centers for CZK 129. A non-bank ticket carrier includes a plastic Transport Card, a key fob, or an IDS JMK chip sticker. You will use the ticket carrier to prove your valid fare while traveling within the IDS JMK system (trains, buses, city transport). Simply present the carrier to the inspection device (to the train conductor, bus driver upon boarding, or a ticket inspector during checks). The QR code, shown in the Brno Public Transport (DPMB) app is not a valid ticket carrier. It is only used by DPMB inspectors to check the validity of your ticket and is not accepted outside DPMB vehicles.
Adding a ticket carrier to the system
To add a ticket carrier, log in to your e-shop profile. In the "My Carriers" section, click on "Add Carrier". Then choose whether you are adding a bank card or a non-bank carrier. For bank cards, enter the card number and expiration date. For non-bank chip carriers, enter the 8-digit code printed on the physical carrier.
Bank card
One way to prove you have a prepaid ticket is to use your bank card, which you normally use to pay in shops. Simply enter its number and expiry date into the system. If the card has not been used in the Pípni a jeď! system in Brno city transport, you can immediately start the ticket purchase process. When traveling on IDS JMK lines, present this bank card during ticket inspection. The inspectors will then see your ticket information. If the card has already been used in the Beep and go! system, it is already anonymously registered in the system. You will need to visit the contact center, where the staff will transfer the card to your profile for the purchase of a prepaid ticket.
Card in your mobile phone or watch
A bank card in your mobile phone or smartwatch can also be used as a ticket carrier. Although it is convenient to show your ticket in this way, it is important to note that the card in your mobile phone has a different number than its physical counterpart. Therefore, if you enter the plastic card number into the system as the carrier, it is not possible to show proof of payment with your mobile phone or watch. If you insist on using a card in your mobile phone or watch, you must go to the contact center with your mobile phone and have the card loaded there. Another disadvantage is that when major updates are made to the mobile phone system, the card number changes without your knowledge. You usually only find out when you check. You then have to visit the contact center again to have the new card number loaded.
Transport card, key fob, or IDS JMK sticker
The same rules apply to all of these carriers; you can choose the one that suits you best. As carriers of prepaid tickets, they are primarily intended for children and young people under the age of 18. They can also be used to prove eligibility for discounts or can be topped up with money and used as a IDS JMK wallet when paying at ticket validators on platforms, ticket machines on trains, and ticket validators on regional buses. They are not permitted as a carrier for season tickets for persons over 15 years of age in Brno city transport. They can be used as carriers for single-use tickets. You can buy the card, key fob, or sticker at one of our Contact Centers, or at the IDS JMK e-shop. The uniform price is CZK 30. When purchasing a prepaid ticket, insert the carrier into the system as a NON-BANKING CHIP and then enter the 8-digit code shown on the carrier, e.g.: 23217D7B. You can then proceed to purchase your ticket.

Anonymous bank card
An anonymous bank card is an alternative especially for those who cannot or do not want to have a ticket on their own bank card, are over 15 years of age, and need a prepaid ticket for Brno. It is available for purchase at contact centers or in the e-shop. The card costs CZK 129. You add the card to your profile in the same way as a classic bank card, i.e. by entering its number and expiry date. This card can only be used as a ticket carrier; it cannot be used to make payments.
Can I use one card for multiple users?
No, each user must have their own card, including children. The card is used as identification when traveling, so it is not possible to have multiple passengers on one card.
Can I have one ticket on multiple cards at the same time?
Unfortunately not, for security reasons. To prevent one ticket from being shared between several users, it is only possible to have a ticket on one carrier at a time. In practice, this means that if you have, for example, a plastic payment card and a mobile phone registered as carriers in the system, the ticket will only be on one of these carriers.
Can I also have a ticket on my mobile phone?
Yes, on your mobile phone or smartwatch. To assign it to your account, you need to visit one of our contact centers, where our colleagues will be happy to help you. You cannot add your phone or watch to the system yourself.
Can I add an expired bank card to the system?
Yes, you can add an expired bank card. However, it must still have a functional contactless chip. You can verify this at our contact centers, which you must visit if you want to add an expired card to the system as a carrier. For security reasons, you cannot add an expired card to the system yourself at home. Our colleagues at our contact centers will scan the card and assign its virtual number to your profile.
I have a brand new bank card from my bank. Do I need to do anything?
If you have a brand new bank card from your bank, you need to activate it so that contactless payment is enabled on the payment card. All you need to do is pay with your new card in a store, even for an amount of just a few crowns, and enter your PIN. This will activate the card and you will be able to use it in our system. Simply inserting the card into an ATM without withdrawing money is also sufficient.
I got a message saying that the carrier is already registered. What should I do?
In this case, the carrier is already entered in the system. The best thing to do now is to contact customer support or visit one of our contact centers.
Important e-shop features
Two-Factor Authentication
Want to secure your account even more than just with a password? Enable two-factor authentication using the Google Authenticator app. After installing the app, you’ll be prompted to link it with your e-shop profile. Each time you log in, you'll confirm your identity through the Google Authenticator app, significantly increasing the security of your account.
Email notifications
If you enable informational emails in your profile settings, you’ll receive helpful notifications such as reminders about the upcoming expiration of your current transport pass, expiring discounts, or other important updates. These messages help you stay informed. You will still receive essential emails related to purchased products, such as expiration, shortened validity, ticket blocking, and more.
Shared account
The shared account feature allows you to grant another person access to your account so they can manage and pay for tickets on your behalf. Such a request will appear under "Account Access Offers" until the invited user accepts it. From that moment, they’ll have access to your account. The active sharing is visible in the overview until either party deletes it, ending the shared access.
Dependent account
Creating and managing a dependent account is especially useful for parents who want to buy and manage tickets for their children. Once the dependent account is created, you must switch to it to make purchases. While in the dependent account, you can fill in all necessary personal details this is essential when buying non-transferable tickets. A carrier must also be assigned to the dependent account to purchase non-transferable tickets.
Online claims
You can now submit claims for incorrectly purchased tickets directly online via the e-shop. Simply log in, click on IDS JMK Claims in the left-hand menu, and fill out a short form explaining your reason for the claim. You can also attach files up to 8 MB. This form can be used for both subscription and single tickets purchased via IDS JMK validators, including the "Beep and Ride!" system.
Fine payment
In the Fine Payment section, you can pay fines issued by KORDIS JMK, a.s. ticket inspectors using a bank card. Just enter the protocol number from the transport inspection report you received and select the date the fine was issued from the calendar. At the bottom of the page, you can find a record of all your fine payments. Note: Submitting a valid transport pass as proof is only possible in person at one of our Contact centers.
Travelling with an electronic ticket
After completing the purchase, the electronic ticket is uploaded to the carrier that was entered into the system. You now prove your valid fare using this carrier. You will not receive any paper ticket or confirmation. QR codes or invoices for paid fares are not accepted as valid proof of travel. When travelling on regional IDS JMK buses, you show your carrier directly to the driver by tapping it on the terminal when boarding. If you are travelling by train, you present it to the conductor or inspector. In Brno city public transport, you only show the carrier if requested by an inspector. Don’t forget to watch the video with clear demonstrations.
In Brno it is possible to purchase the full range of zonal tickets – Standard, Discounted A, and Discounted B, including one-day and multi-day tickets – with a bank card in all public transport vehicles. In addition, by simply tapping the card without selecting a specific ticket, the passenger receives a ticket for one person for travel within the city of Brno, valid for 60 minutes. If the card is tapped again within 15 minutes when exiting and no further travel occurs, the price of the ticket is reduced. This service in Brno is called "Pípni a Jeď". More details can be found at: www.pipniajed.cz. Claims regarding this service should be directed to KORDIS JMK, which manages the system.
For trains it is possible to purchase the full range of zonal tickets – Standard, Discounted A, and Discounted B, including one-day and multi-day tickets – at validators on platforms or in selected trains at ticket machines directly onboard.
On bus lines marked with the symbol S boarding is allowed through all doors and the full range of zonal tickets – Standard, Discounted A, and Discounted B, including one-day and multi-day tickets – can be purchased at validators. In some cases, tickets can be purchased simply by tapping a card. More information is available at www.jezdijednoduse.cz
Also in Znojmo it is possible to purchase the full range of zonal tickets – Standard, Discounted A, and Discounted B, including one-day and multi-day tickets – with a bank card in all city transport vehicles. In addition, by simply tapping the card without selecting a ticket, the passenger receives a ticket for one person for travel within Znojmo without transfer. If there is no transfer, the card does not need to be tapped again. If there is a transfer, the card is tapped again upon the next boarding, and a cheaper transfer ticket is issued. This service is called "Jezdi jednoduše". More details can be found at: www.znojmojede.cz. Claims regarding this service should also be directed to KORDIS JMK, which manages the system.
What to do if your ticket cannot be read during inspection on a train or bus?
In a regional bus or train, the staff is required to perform an online verification of the ticket. This eliminates cases where the ticket has not been delivered to the device. If the online verification is unsuccessful, it usually means that you are presenting a different carrier than the one the ticket is assigned to, or that you do not have a valid ticket at all. If you are certain that you have a valid ticket, you can use the e-jízdenka mobile app, which allows you to provide a special code. The staff member can then verify the existence and validity of the ticket by phone through the central dispatch center. In such a case, you may also be asked to present proof of identity. Paper QR codes or printed pages from your e-shop profile are not accepted as valid proof!
Alternative routes
Alternative routes are introduced in cases where it is possible to travel between two locations or zones via two different paths passing through different zones. Without alternative routes, it would be necessary to purchase a season ticket valid only for the zones corresponding to one specific route. When an alternative route is available, the customer can choose the more convenient route without any additional charge.
An example is travel between Hodonín, Kyjov, Mikulov, and Brno – both trains and buses can be used, even if they go through different zones. Passengers from the Kunštát, Letovice, and Olešnice areas will also benefit, as they can travel to Brno not only via the main line 301, but also by taking a short bus ride to Letovice, Skalice, or Rájec-Jestřebí and continuing with a comfortable Moravia train connection to the center of Brno. A third area where benefits apply is Jedovnice and nearby villages towards Studnice. Residents here can now choose whether to travel to Brno by bus line 201 or by train via Blansko.
Alternative routes are set automatically when purchasing a new ticket.
The current list of alternative routes can always be found at the end of the valid IDS JMK Tariff.
Which discount to use?
In the case of discounted single tickets, there are two discount categories: Discounted A and Discounted B. Discounted A tickets are used throughout the region by children under 15, seniors over 70, luggage, and dogs. This ticket is also intended for young people aged 15 to 18, students with an ISIC or student card up to the age of 26, people aged 65 to 70, and people with a grade 3 disability. However, these groups cannot use it to travel on public transport in Brno. If they need to use Brno public transport for their journey, they can use a Discounted B ticket.
Children under 6 years of age travel free of charge on the IDS JMK, children under 10 years of age in Brno and Hodonín, holders of ZTP and ZTP/P cards, in zones 100, 101, 225, 235, 571, 575, 675, 740, 800, and 900, persons over 70 years of age.
To take advantage of the discount on a prepaid ticket, you must register in the e-shop and upload or submit the relevant proof of eligibility for the discount during registration.

Children aged 6–15
No proof of age is required for single tickets. When registering and purchasing season tickets in the e-shop, please upload your child's birth certificate or ID card to verify their age.

Young people aged 15–18
In the case of single tickets, entitlement to an age-based discount is proven by the passenger's ID card or electronic IDS JMK prepaid ticket, or ISIC card in electronic or physical form. When registering and purchasing prepaid tickets in the e-shop, upload your ID card for age verification.

Students aged 18–26
For single tickets, entitlement to a discount is proven by an ISIC card in electronic or physical form, an electronic IDS JMK prepaid ticket, or an orange student ID card. When purchasing prepaid tickets in the e-shop, it is necessary to upload proof of identity. To verify your eligibility for a discount for travel outside the city of Brno and for travel to Brno without the possibility of traveling within Brno by public transport, upload your student ID card, confirmation of study, or ISIC card in electronic or physical form. To verify your eligibility for a discount that includes travel within Brno by public transport, you must enter a valid ISIC card only.
I can't set up my discount. What should I do?
In this case, it would be best to visit one of our contact centers and have your discount verified on the spot. Also, check whether you are eligible for student status. Your ISIC card must be valid for the next school year. We also accept ISIC cards stored in the official ISIC app in electronic form.
Ticket refunds
Returning tickets in electronic form is easier than ever before. You don't need to fill out complicated applications and forms to get a refund. Just log in to your profile on our IDS JMK e-shop. In the My Valid Tickets section, elect the ticket you want to return and click on the Return Ticket button. Then fill in the account number to which you want the proportional amount for the ticket to be returned. The amount of the refund will be displayed directly in the e-shop.
In the case of ticket refunds, in rare cases, it may take up to 30 days from the date of submission of the request for a refund (as with complaints). If you return a ticket after it has already become valid, you will be refunded a proportional amount. This amount takes into account the date of purchase, the number of days already traveled, and the type of ticket.
It is even easier to return a ticket in POSEIDON. If you have not yet activated it, press the return button and the amount will be immediately credited to your account, where it will be available for future use.
Loss or transfer of a ticket to another carrier
One of the advantages of an electronic ticket is that it is stored in our system under all circumstances, so there is no risk of losing or having your ticket stolen. If you discover that you have lost your prepaid ticket carrier, simply log in to your profile on the IDS JMK e-shop and enter a new carrier into the system. Then, in the My Tickets section, here is a Transfer to new Carrier button next to the ticket. Select another inserted carrier from the menu and confirm the change. The change will be immediately recorded in the system. It is a good idea to deactivate unused carriers.
Ticket verification
If a passenger does not have a valid season ticket with them during a ticket inspection but, for example, left it at home, it is possible to present the ticket retrospectively. If you did not present your carrier (e.g. card or device) containing the information about your purchased non-transferable season ticket during the inspection, you must pay a jhandling fee of CZK 50 CZK 100 for DPMBwithin 5 days. DYou can pay this handling fee conveniently from home. The next day after the inspection, log in to our e-shop using your password and go to the “My Inspections” section. There, enter the number of the Inspection Report and the date of the inspection. You can then proceed to pay the CZK CZK 50 handling fee.

Gift voucher
In our e-shop, you can purchase a gift voucher (discount coupon) in any amount between CZK 100 and CZK 10,000. The voucher is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase.. Once paid, the voucher will be sent to your email as a PDF file (you can also download it anytime later in the “My Payments” section). The voucher can only be used to discount non-transferable season tickets in the IDS JMK system. You can choose from several design themes. After the expiry date, the voucher becomes void.
Redeeming the Voucher
When purchasing and selecting your desired ticket, the voucher holder can enter the code of one (or more) discount vouchers below the cart. The voucher will be added to the cart as a discount, reducing the total amount to be paid. If the value of the voucher equals the total price of the ticket(s), an option will appear to pay the full amount using the voucher. The voucher can only be used once, and if its value exceeds the price of the ticket(s) in the cart, the remaining amount will be forfeited.
IDS JMK store
DYou can now access our IDS JMK store — where you can buy carriers (key fobs, anonymous bank cards, etc.) or promotional items (cut-out models, T-shirts, mugs, etc.) — without the need to register. The store is accessible directly at: eshop.idsjmk.cz/en/
Accompanying a child under 3 years of age
For children under the age of 3, it is possible to purchase a season ticket for their accompanying person. This ticket allows one person accompanying the child to travel for free within Brno (zones 100 + 101) and Hodonín (zone 900). The ticket can be issued to a bank card or a non-bank carrier (key fob, sticker, or transport card). To obtain the ticket, the child must be registered — either online via the e-shop or in person at a contact center. If multiple adults take turns caring for the child, you can purchase more than one ticket. Any adult can accompany the child, but the child must always be present during the journey. The ticket is not valid if you are, for example, just going to pick the child up.
The free season ticket for an accompanying person is also suitable for non-Brno-based children under 3 who occasionally travel to Brno. Their accompanying person can use a combination of travel documents and only pay for zones outside Brno. If you regularly travel with a child under 3 years of age outside Brno, you can purchase the Annual Season Ticket for Accompanying a Child Under 3 for all zones, priced at CZK 2,400/year. This ticket allows unlimited travel throughout the IDS JMK system for one person accompanying a child under 3.
To purchase the ticket in the IDS JMK e-shop register using the child’s details (not your own). Fill in the required information, add a carrier, and in the final step, select the discount for a child under 3 and confirm the purchase. The ticket becomes valid immediately.
Electronic fare Břeclav
The IDS JMK wallet is available in the form of a Transport Card, key fob, or IDS JMK chip. These can be purchased and topped up, for example, at the IDS JMK Contact Centre at Břeclav train station. You can use them to pay the fare to the driver, similar to the BORS chip cards. For travel within the city, they serve as an alternative to bank cards.
Legacy BORS chip cards can still be used for both season tickets and single ticket payments, including wallet top-ups, until further notice. However, we recommend gradually switching to bank cards or non-bank carriers.
For travel around Břeclav, the most cost-effective option is a eason ticket (adults 330 CZK/month, children and students 165 CZK/month). The most advantageous option is the annual ticket for 2,950 CZK, which gives you 3 months of free travel per year. For children and students, the annual ticket costs only 1,475 CZK. Citizens over 65 years old can travel free of charge on buses in Břeclav using just their ID card. Citizens over 70 can travel free of charge in Břeclav also on trains. Season tickets can be arranged from home via eshop.idsjmk.cz or in person at the IDS JMK Contact Centre at the train station.
Electronic fare Znojmo
However, the most economical option for travel in Znojmo is still theannual ticket for 2,950 CZK, which gives you 3 months of free travel per year. For children and students, the annual ticket costs just 1,475 CZK. Old-age pensioners, persons with a third-degree disability, and persons with first- or second-degree disability over 50 years of age can travel for free in Znojmo after obtaining the relevant discount coupon on a non-bank carrier or bank card. Tickets can be arranged from home via eshop.idsjmk.cz/en. For help with questions or to purchase tickets, you can also visit the IDS JMK Contact Centre located in the train station building.

Easy go
This is a set of measures aimed at modernising and digitising passenger check-in in the IDS JMK system. It includes, in particular, equipping IDS JMK stations with new smart validators, which allow not only the validation of paper tickets but also payment by bank card with the issuance of an electronic ticket. Larger machines with extended functions are also planned for regional Moravia train units, Stadler units to be deployed from the end of 2024, and selected České dráhy train series (especially RegioPanter and 842). In bus transport, the project covers the change of the passenger check-in system on selected regional bus lines around the city of Brno. These buses are also equipped with smart validators enabling payment by bank card and the issuance of an electronic ticket. Boarding is allowed through all doors on weekdays from 5 AM to 8 PM, and passengers do not need to show the driver a ticket they simply buy it at the validator. More details can be found via this link. . Information about the project is also available at www.jezdijednoduse.cz.
Beep and go!
Tapping, i.e., paying via an automatic system without selecting a specific ticket, works in tariff zones 100 and 101. So for travelling, it is enough to just tap your bank card. If you want to travel outside the city of Brno, for example by tram to Modřice, trolleybus to Šlapanice, or bus to Veveří Castle, tapping alone is not enough you must select a specific ticket for the appropriate number of tariff zones in the yellow validator, which our terminals can also handle.
