Basic Information

In addition to paper tickets, IDS JMK offers the option to purchase tickets in electronic form, both single-use (for a one-way trip) and subscription (daily, multi-day, monthly, quarterly, and yearly) tickets. These tickets are available only in electronic form, so passengers do not receive any paper tickets as proof of their journey. During ticket inspection, passengers present their bank card (key fob, sticker, or another valid carrier for IDS JMK ticket inspection) that they used to pay for the ticket or to which the ticket is associated. It is also possible to use bank cards stored in mobile phones or smartwatches (Apple Pay or Google Pay). The electronic passenger boarding process in Brno and the rest of the region is overseen by KORDIS JMK. Our Traffic Settlement Center collects information from the Brno Public Transport Company, bus operators, and train operators. This center then keeps records of both single-use and subscription tickets sold and provides them to transport authorities for inspection purposes.

The interest in the electronic subscription to the IDS JMK among passengers is a sign of the efforts of the South Moravian Region and the KORDIS JMK company to further modernise and simplify passenger check-in. The gradual introduction of exclusively electronic subscription tickets will take place in two steps, which will be carried out by the Go Simply campaign.

As of 1 December 2023, quarterly and annual subscription tickets will be switched exclusively to electronic fares. The same change will take place from 1 March 2024 for monthly subscription tickets. Other tickets will remain in paper form. To purchase, register at eshop.idsjmk.cz, or visit one of our Contact Centres, where colleagues will be happy to help you register and purchase your ticket.

Sale of paper tickets is still available at České dráhy counters, but prices are approximately 10% higher compared to electronic tickets.
Examples of price comparisons between electronic and paper tickets. Prices marked in bold are for electronic tickets. You can find the complete price list here.
Ticket Type Monthly
100+101 + 1 additional zone 880 CZK | 930 CZK

Paper subscriptions for zones 100+101 (Brno) are no longer available in paper form. This option has been completely replaced by electronic tickets! To make a purchase, please register at eshop.idsjmk.cz or visit one of our Contact Centers, where our colleagues will be happy to assist you with registration and ticket purchases.

Registration for the E-shop

You can purchase practically all tickets in our e-shop eshop.idsjmk.cz. It is most commonly used for purchasing subscription tickets (monthly, quarterly, or yearly). To do this, you need to register first. You can register with your email address that you commonly use. After successful registration, you need to fill out your profile, including the following details:

Each person must have their own registration and their own carrier linked to their own email, including children. The electronic profile is a replacement for a paper pass, which was also not shared among multiple users.

The IDS JMK Poseidon application is not intended for subscription tickets; it is exclusively for purchasing single-use tickets. It cannot be used for electronic subscription tickets!

Verification of Data

In order to verify that the information entered in the profile matches a real person, it is necessary to verify this information in the system. You can perform the verification from the comfort of your home by uploading an identity document for the person for whom the profile in the e-shop was created. You can perform the verification in the MY ACCOUNT - BASIC INFORMATION section, and at the end of the page, you will find buttons for uploading attachments. Verification of personal information can be done by submitting an online request without the need for a personal visit. In the e-shop, you can upload photos (or scans) of your ID card in the form of an image (or a PDF document) with a maximum file size of 15 MB. For children (under 15 years), you can use a passport or birth certificate if they don't have an ID card. Foreigners should upload a standard identification document from their country or a residence permit. You can upload up to 6 images here (allowed formats are jpg, jpeg, jpe, png, gif, or pdf). The uploaded documents will only be used by employees of the Contact Center to verify the correctness of the verified personal information. Immediately after verification, all uploaded files will be completely and irrevocably deleted. This remote verification option is just one of the methods of verification (to be used at your discretion). If you do not wish to upload documents to the system, you can visit one of our IDS JMK Contact Centers where you can verify your identity in person.

Can I register multiple users with one email?

No, each user must have their own email, including children. If they don't have an email, you can enter any email or create one for them.

How do I verify my account after registration?

You can upload your identity documents into the system, and our colleagues will verify the information. Alternatively, if you do not want to upload documents to the system, you can come in person to one of our Contact Centers, where our colleagues will verify you on the spot. Unverified information does not affect the validity of your ticket. For minors, you can upload a birth certificate or another official identification document.

How long does data verification take?

Since the data is verified by a physical person and compared with the documents entered into the system, the verification may take some time. However, unverified information does not affect the validity of your ticket, and you can purchase a ticket as usual.

Carriers for Subscription Tickets

To purchase and validate your ticket, it is necessary to link a carrier to the system. A carrier can be your bank card, an anonymous card, a keychain, or a chip sticker from IDS JMK. You will then use one of these carriers to prove your ticket validity during your journeys on IDS JMK services (trains, buses, city transport), meaning you present this carrier to the device during inspections (on the train with the conductor, when boarding a regional bus, and during inspections by controllers on city transport in Brno).

Adding a Carrier to the System

To add a carrier to the system, simply log in to the e-shop, click on MY CARRIERS and ADD CARRIER. Then, choose whether you want to add a keychain, sticker, your bank card, or an anonymous bank card as your carrier. If you are adding a card, it is necessary to enter the card number and its validity into the system. When adding a keychain or sticker, you need to copy the 8 or 14-digit number displayed on the carrier.

Image

Bank Card

As one of the methods to prove your subscription ticket, you can use your bank card, which you typically use for payments in stores. Simply enter its number and expiration date into the system. If the card has not been used in the Pípni a jeď! system in Brno's city transport, you can immediately begin the ticket purchase process. During your journeys on IDS JMK routes, you present this bank card during inspections. Control staff will then see the details of your ticket.

Image

Anonymous Bank Card

An anonymous bank card is intended for those who cannot or do not want to have their ticket on their own bank card. It is suitable for all passengers regardless of age or discount category. You can also use this card as an electronic wallet, for small payments just like a bank card. Please note that a 1.5% fee (minimum of 10 CZK) is deducted when loading the card, and if the card is loaded but not used for payments, a monthly fee of 30 CZK will start after 6 months. If the card has no balance, no fees will be deducted. The price of the card is 129 CZK one-time, and you can purchase it in our e-shop or IDS JMK Contact Centers. More information at www.kartabezuctu.cz.

Image

Mobile or Watch

Another one of the relatively modern ways to prove your tickets is the option to add your ticket to your mobile or smartwatch. The requirement is that the device must support payments via Apple Pay or Google Pay, and you must have your bank card added to this system. For security reasons, you cannot add the watch or mobile phone to the system yourself. You need to visit one of our IDS JMK Contact Centers where our colleagues will scan your device and pair it with your e-shop profile. After that, you can simply present the device to the ticket inspection terminal during inspections, just like when making payments in stores.

Image

Keychain or Sticker

A keychain or sticker can be used by individuals up to 18 years of age (in city transport in Brno, only up to 15 years). You can purchase these carriers at one of our IDS JMK Contact Centers or through the IDS JMK e-shop. The price for one keychain or sticker is 30 CZK. When adding the carrier to the system, select it as NON-BANK CARRIER and then enter the 8-digit code provided on the carrier, for example: 23217D7B. Afterward, you can proceed with purchasing your ticket. The same process applies to chip stickers.

Obrázek

Transport card IDS JMK

To the existing carriers newly added transport card, designed for people up to 18 years (in urban transport in Brno only up to 15 years). The aim is to offer another type of carrier for young travellers who are not comfortable with a key fob or sticker and prefer a wallet card. The advantage of the carrier is that it is cheaper than an anonymous bank card - it costs only 30 CZK. The new card may also be of interest to collectors. In the next years we plan to change the motif on the front and issue new versions.

Can one carrier be used for multiple users?

No, each user must have their own carrier, including children. The carrier is used by an individual when traveling, so it is not possible to have multiple passengers on one card.

Can I have one ticket on multiple carriers simultaneously?

Unfortunately, no, for security reasons. To prevent sharing one ticket among multiple users, a ticket can only be on one carrier at a time. In practice, this means that if you have, for example, a plastic payment card and a mobile phone registered as carriers in the system, the ticket will only be on one of these carriers.

Can I have a ticket on my mobile phone?

Yes, on a mobile phone or smartwatch. To link it to your account, you need to visit one of our Contact Centers, where our colleagues will be happy to assist you. You cannot add the phone or watch to the system on your own.

Can I add an expired bank card to the system?

Yes, you can add an expired bank card to the system, but it must still have a functional contactless feature. You can verify this at our Contact Centers, where you must go even if you want to add an expired card to the system as a carrier. For security reasons, you cannot add an expired card to the system on your own at home. Our colleagues at the Contact Centers will scan the card and link its virtual number to your profile.

I have a brand new bank card from the bank, do I need to do anything?

If you have a completely new bank card from the bank, you need to activate the card so that contactless payment on the payment card becomes active. All you need to do is make a payment with the new card in a store, even for a small amount, and enter your PIN. This will activate the card, and there will be no obstacles to using the card in our system.

I received a message about an already registered carrier, what should I do?

In such a case, the carrier is already entered into the system. It is best to contact customer support or visit one of our Contact Centers.

Important e-shop Features

Two-Factor Authentication

Would you like to enhance the security of your account beyond just using a password? In that case, use two-factor authentication with the Google Authenticator authorization app. After installing the app, you'll be prompted to link it to your profile on the e-shop. From then on, whenever you want to log in to the system, you'll need to confirm your login using the Google Authenticator app. This will further secure your account.

Email Notifications

If you enable email notifications in your profile settings, you'll receive emails reminding you of the approaching expiration date of your current travel pass, issues with expiring discount entitlements, or other essential notifications that are often very useful and help keep you informed. You will continue to receive emails regarding significant changes to purchased products, such as expiration, shortened validity, or ticket blockage, etc.

Shared Account

A shared account allows you to grant another person access to your account so that they can handle the purchase and payment of tickets. Such a request then waits in the "Account Access Offers" until the target user accepts the offer. From that moment on, they will have access to your account, which is simultaneously displayed in the list of currently valid shared accounts until either party deletes this setting, thereby terminating it.

Dependent Account

The creation and subsequent management of a dependent account are intended to allow parents, for example, to create an account for their children and then purchase and pay for tickets in that account. After creating a dependent account, you need to switch to this account. Once switched, you will be in the dependent account and can work within it. It is advisable to fill in all the necessary personal information if you want to purchase non-transferable tickets in the dependent account. To purchase non-transferable tickets, you also need to assign a carrier to the dependent account.

Online Complaints

You can now make a complaint for incorrectly purchased tickets online, directly within the e-shop environment. Simply, in the left main column after logging in to the e-shop, click on "IDS JMK reklamace" and fill out a short form. Describe the reason for the complaint in the form and you can also attach files up to 8 MB in size, then submit everything. You can use this form to file a complaint for both subscription and one-time tickets purchased at IDS JMK validators, including the Pípni and jeď! system.

Fine Payment

In the "FINE PAYMENT" section, you can pay fines imposed by KORDIS JMK, a.s. for violations by inspectors. Everything is clear and just a few clicks away; you can pay by bank card. To use the system, simply enter the protocol number for the transport inspection, which you can find on the report you received from the inspector. You will also select the date of the penalty imposition from the calendar. In the lower part of the page, you will find all your fine payments. Proof of a subscription ticket is only possible in person at one of our Contact Centers.

Traveling with an Electronic Ticket

The ticket was purchased on a carrier that was entered into the system. Now, passengers only need to prove themselves with this carrier when traveling. The ticket is electronically linked to your carrier, and you use this carrier to prove yourself during your travels. When traveling on regional buses in IDS JMK, you prove yourself when boarding directly at the driver's counter. If you are traveling by train, you prove yourself during your journey directly with the conductor or inspector. In the city transport in Brno, you only prove yourself when prompted by the inspector. Don't forget to watch the video for practical demonstrations.

Similar to trains and regional buses, in the city of Brno, you can purchase the full range of zone tickets - Basic, Discounted A, and Discounted B, including one-day and multi-day tickets in all vehicles with a bank card. In Brno, the Brno City Transport Company promotes the option to purchase a one-time ticket with a payment card in vehicles as part of the "Pípni and jeď!" service. Details can be found on the website: www.pipniajed.cz.

You will not receive any paper ticket for verification! The ticket is in electronic form on the carrier that you inserted into the system. Under no circumstances do various QR codes or printed pages from your e-shop profile qualify!

What to do if my ticket cannot be read during inspection on the train/bus?

In such a case, the inspection staff have an internal procedure to verify the ticket. Under no circumstances should you provide various QR codes in paper form or printed pages from your e-shop profile as proof!

Ticket Purchase

You can purchase a ticket as easily as on any other e-shop. In the system, simply select SUBSCRIPTION TICKET if you want to buy tickets for a month, three months, or a year. Choose the inserted carrier on which you want to have the ticket registered and select the type of ticket. You can choose from SECTOR TICKET (for shorter distances), ZONE TICKET (you can select zones directly from the map or from the drop-down menu), TICKETS FOR ALL ZONES, or TICKETS FOR URBAN TRANSPORT IN THE REGION AND IN BRNO (Adamov, Blansko, Brno, Břeclav, Hodonín, Kyjov, Mikulov, Vyškov, Znojmo). Then select the ticket category, and in the next step, select the validity period of the ticket (monthly, quarterly, or annually). In the last step, choose the date from which you want the ticket to be valid (you can purchase up to 30 days in advance) and add it to your cart. Then proceed to payment, review the items in your cart, and make the payment. You can choose to pay online by bank card, via a payment gateway, or offline (bank transfer) and make the payment.

Alternative Routes

Since the beginning of September 2023, commuters traveling to Brno have been facing congested roads, especially from the southern part of the region. One way to avoid traffic jams is to use modern IDS JMK trains. KORDIS is accommodating passengers in this regard and simplifying route selection for holders of electronic subscription tickets.

Since the launch of electronic ticket sales for the entire region in 2020, IDS JMK customers have been able to purchase tickets with so-called alternative routes in the IDS JMK e-shop. Starting from September 8, 2023, KORDIS JMK has significantly expanded the list of alternative routes to help travelers avoid congestion to the south and north of Brno. The introduction of alternative routes aimed to address cases where it is possible to travel between Brno and the destination using two different routes with different zones along the way. This was not feasible with paper tickets. Travelers had to decide which route to take more frequently. When they needed to use the other route, they had to pay extra.

The introduction of electronic subscription tickets, which are also cheaper than paper tickets, solved this issue. Now, passengers traveling between places like Hodonín or Kyjov and Brno can use both trains and buses that travel through different zones. This gives them much greater flexibility in travel without the need for additional payments. With the goal of offering passengers the option to avoid congestion when traveling to Brno from the south and north, KORDIS has added additional alternative routes from September 8, 2023. The benefits will be most noticeable for residents of Mikulov and surrounding areas who can now travel to Brno not only by bus 105 but also switch to fast and comfortable trains in Šakvice or Vranovice.

Passengers from the Kunštát, Letovice, and Olešnice areas also gained an advantage. They can now choose to travel to Brno not only on the backbone line 301 but also try a short bus ride to Letovice, Skalice, or Rájec-Jestřebí, and then connect comfortably with modern Moravia trains to the center of Brno.

The third area benefiting from these advantages includes Jedovnice and other villages towards Studnice. Their residents can now choose whether to travel to Brno by bus 201 or by train via Blansko. Alternative routes will gradually be automatically set up for existing subscription ticket holders. When purchasing a new ticket, these routes will be automatically entered.

Discount Settings

With electronic season tickets, you can avail the same discounts as with paper tickets. If you are a student, enter your ISIC student card into the system. Remember that your ISIC card must be valid for the upcoming school year if you are applying for a discount for the following period. Some discount categories are automatically set based on age (children under 3 years, 6-15 years, and seniors over 70 years).

Obrázek

Child 6 - 15 years

In the case of single tickets, there is no age requirement. In case of registration and purchase of subscription tickets in the e-shop, please upload the child's birth certificate or ID card to verify the child's age.

Obrázek

Youth 15 - 18 years

In the case of single-use tickets, entitlement to a discount based on age is evidenced by the passenger's identity card or an electronic IDS JMK prepaid ticket, or an ISIC card in electronic or physical form. In the case of registration and purchase of prepaid tickets in the e-shop, please upload an identity card to verify your age.

Obrázek

Student 18- 26 years old

In the case of single-use tickets, the entitlement to a discount is documented by an ISIC card in electronic or physical form, an IDS JMK electronic prepaid ticket or a Student Card. In the case of subscription tickets purchased in the e-shop, it is necessary to upload an ID card. To verify your entitlement to the discount for travel outside Brno and for commuting to Brno without the possibility of travelling within Brno by public transport, upload your Student ID, confirmation of studies or ISIC card in electronic or physical form. To verify eligibility for the discount including travel within Brno by public transport, only a valid ISIC card is required.

I can't set up the discount, what should I do?

In such cases, it's best to visit one of our Contact Centers and have your discount verified on the spot. Also, ensure that you are eligible for student status. Your ISIC card must be valid for the next school year. We accept ISIC cards embedded in the official ISIC app in electronic form.

I am a student of a language school, am I eligible for a discount?

Unfortunately, no, the aforementioned discounts are available to students aged 18 to 26 who are enrolled in elementary school or are actively preparing for future professions through studies at a secondary school, conservatory, higher vocational school, or university in full-time or part-time attendance in the Czech Republic, or through studies that are equivalent in content and scope to studies at these schools, or have a similar status abroad.

Ticket Refund

Refunding an electronic ticket is easier than ever. You don't need to fill out complicated requests and forms. Simply log in to your profile on our IDS JMK e-shop. Then, in the top green bar under the MY VALID TICKETS section, select the ticket you want to return and click the RETURN TICKET button. Next, enter the account number where you want the proportional ticket amount to be refunded. The refunded amount will be displayed directly in the e-shop.

In the case of ticket refunds, in exceptional cases, it may take up to 30 days from the date of the request (similar to a complaint). If you are returning a ticket after it has already started, you will receive a so-called proportional refund. This amount takes into account the date of purchase, the number of days already traveled, and the type of ticket, among other factors.

Loss or Transfer of Ticket to Another Medium

One of the advantages of an electronic ticket is that it is securely stored in our system under all circumstances, eliminating the risk of losing or having your ticket stolen. If you discover the loss of your prepaid ticket medium, simply log in to your profile on the IDS JMK e-shop and enter the new medium into the system. Then, under the MY TICKETS section, there is a button to TRANSFER TO ANOTHER MEDIUM for the ticket. You can choose another inserted medium from the menu and confirm the change; the change is updated in the system immediately. Unused media can be deleted from the system.

Ticket Validation

If a passenger does not have a valid prepaid ticket with them during a ticket inspection by a conductor, but they have it, for example, forgotten at home, it is possible to retroactively validate such a ticket. If you did not present your medium with information about your purchased non-transferable prepaid ticket during the transport inspection, it is necessary to pay a handling fee of 50 CZK within 5 days. You can pay for the ticket validation from the comfort of your home. The next day, log in with your password to our e-shop, where, in the "My Ticket Inspections" tab, you will enter the record number of the transport inspection and the date on which the inspection took place, and then you can pay the handling fee of 50 CZK.

Gift Voucher

In the e-shop, you can purchase a gift voucher (discount voucher) in the amount of your choice, ranging from 100 to 10,000 CZK, with a validity period of 1 year from the date of purchase (the voucher expires after its validity period). You will receive the voucher in the form of a PDF file by email after payment (or you can download it at any time in the My Payments section). The voucher is used for discounts on non-transferable prepaid tickets in the IDS JMK system only. You can choose from various motifs.

Redeeming the voucher

When purchasing and then selecting the desired ticket, the voucher holder has the option of entering the code of one (or more) discount vouchers under the basket. The voucher will be added to the basket as a discount and the buyer will pay a lower amount. If the value of the voucher is worth the ticket price, the option to pay the full value of the voucher will appear below the basket. The voucher can only be used once and if the value of the voucher is higher than the ticket price in the basket, the remaining amount of the voucher will be forfeited.

Accompanying a Child Under 3 Years

For children under 3 years old, it is possible to purchase a prepaid ticket for accompanying a child under 3 years. The ticket allows free travel for one person accompanying the child on journeys within Brno (zones 100 + 101) and within Hodonín (Hodonín section - Hodonín). For journeys within Brno, the ticket is ONLY issued in electronic form - on a bank card. You can no longer purchase a paper version of this ticket. You can obtain an electronic ticket on the IDS JMK e-shop. The ticket is issued for the child but can be on your bank card. If you take turns babysitting the child, you can purchase multiple prepaid tickets for them. However, the child under 3 years must always travel with you! The ticket is not valid, for example, if you are just picking someone up. The free prepaid ticket for accompanying a child under 3 years is also suitable for non-Brno children under 3 years who travel to Brno occasionally. Their companion can use a combination of tickets and only pay for non-Brno zones. If you often travel with a child under 3 years outside of Brno, you can get an Annual Prepaid Ticket for accompanying a child under 3 years for all zones. It costs 2,400 CZK/year and allows unlimited travel throughout IDS JMK for one person accompanying a child under 3 years.

To purchase a ticket on the IDS JMK e-shop, register and fill in the child's information, not yours! Fill in the necessary information, insert the carrier, and in the final step, select the discount for a child under 3 years and confirm the ticket purchase. The ticket is valid immediately.

Tap and Go!

Tap and go, or payment through an automatic system without selecting specific tickets, works in tariff zones 100 and 101. This means that you can use this ticket payment system in city transport in Brno. A similar system, aptly named Znojmo jede!, is also available in Znojmo. When traveling, simply tap your bank card. If you want to travel outside the city of Brno, for example, by tram to Modřice, trolleybus to Šlapanice, or bus to Veveří Castle, tapping alone is not enough. You must use the yellow validator to select a specific ticket for the appropriate number of tariff zones, which our terminals can also handle.
