Jezdi jednoduše on Regional Buses

On routes marked with the letter S, currently routes 161, 302, 304, 402, 403, 404, 405, 501, 502, 510, 509, 701, and 702, boarding through all doors is permitted every day from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Passengers with a valid ticket do not need to tap it anywhere or show it to the driver. Passengers without a ticket board through the second door and purchase a ticket using a bank card or Transport Wallet at the validator located there. The validator can sell the full range of single and one-day tickets. The validator does not issue a paper ticket. The electronic virtual ticket is linked to the medium (card) used for payment, and this same medium must be presented during ticket inspection. In addition, the validator also supports the Travel Easily mode.

Payments in Jezdi jednoduše Mode

When boarding the above-mentioned S routes, passengers do not need to purchase a specific ticket. Instead, they simply tap a bank card or Transport Wallet. When getting off, they tap the card only if they are ending their journey. If they transfer within the city of Brno to a public transport route, they simply tap their bank card again when boarding. Unfortunately, the Transport Wallet cannot yet be used on DPMB vehicles. Passengers do not need to select anything. Any further transfers follow the same procedure. At the end of the journey, it is necessary to tap the card one final time before exiting. If you start your journey in Brno on a public transport route (and do not leave the city limits of Brno) or on one of the S routes, you simply tap your card when boarding, tap it again when transferring, and tap it one final time before the last exit. The system automatically calculates the fare the following day and charges it to the passenger's card in the days that follow. This mode can only be used for one passenger—the cardholder. For an additional passenger, it is necessary to purchase the appropriate ticket at the validator and pay again using the card. It is possible to purchase all required tickets at once. From 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., when boarding on S routes is only permitted through the front door, the Travel Easily payment mode can still be used. You only need to inform the driver that you wish to use this option. The driver will activate it, and you then tap your card.

If a passenger chooses a journey that includes a transfer from or to a public transport route (routes numbered 1 to 99) outside the territory of Brno, they must purchase a ticket for the required number of zones at the validator before starting the journey. The Travel Easily mode cannot be used in this case.

Please note that the validator on regional buses reacts the same way to any card tap. Therefore, no “Boarding” or “Exiting” message is displayed.

If you forget to tap your card when exiting, the system assumes that you travelled to the final stop of that service. Within the city of Brno, it will then charge for both zones 100 and 101. Therefore, it is not possible for you to be charged significantly more than you should be for your journey.

IDS JMK Transport Wallet

The Transport Wallet is a virtual passenger account to which you can load funds intended for paying fares at platform validators and ticket machines on trains, in Břeclav and Znojmo (all buses within the city limits), and in validators on S routes. The Transport Wallet is stored on a medium such as a key fob, transport card, or IDS JMK sticker. These can be purchased for CZK 30 at IDS JMK Contact Centres. You can also top them up there, via eshop.idsjmk.cz, or directly at a validator. The Transport Wallet cannot be used for payment on DPMB vehicles and currently cannot be used on regional buses not listed above. If you have purchased a single ticket on a key fob, it is valid throughout the region, including the city of Brno.

Travel Easily by Train

As part of the Travel Easily project, the aging ticket validators at all IDS JMK railway stations have been replaced with new smart yellow validators. These devices allow not only the validation of paper tickets purchased in advance, but also payment of fares using a bank card or Transport Wallet. The validator does not issue a paper ticket. The electronic virtual ticket is linked to the medium (card) used for payment, and this same medium must be presented during ticket inspection.

Validators can sell tickets in three ways. On the home screen, the most frequently selected destinations from the given location are displayed. Simply tap one of them. If your destination is not listed and you know which ticket you need, tap Quick Tickets, where you can choose a ticket based on the number of zones, including a surcharge for one additional zone, or select one-day tourist tickets. The third option, intended for passengers who do not know which ticket they need, is the Search Destination button, which opens the journey planner. Enter your destination station—be careful to type slowly—select the required destination stop, and the validator will automatically choose the appropriate ticket for you. The remaining steps are the same for all three ticket selection methods. Select the number of tickets according to the applicable discounts, confirm your choice, and pay by presenting your payment method (bank card or Transport Wallet). During ticket inspection, present the medium that was used for payment.

The smart validator also includes additional functions. First of all, by pressing the My Card button, it displays all tickets linked to the medium that you place on the reader. In the case of the Transport Wallet, it also allows you to top it up. The validator further provides current departures from the station, current transport information, and a map showing the locations of IDS JMK vehicles, allowing you to see where the vehicle you are waiting for is currently located.

Here you can view the smart validator user guide.

Ticket Machines on Trains

On trains operating on routes S2, S21, S3, S4, S41, S51, S52, S8, S91, and partially S9, red ticket machines are installed near doors marked with a green strip and the text: "Tickets - Info - Tickets". They offer practically the same functions as station validators, but in addition they also sell tickets under the nationwide SJT - OneTicket fare system and, on trains operating into the Vysočina Region, VDV tickets as well. This means you can purchase a ticket to a neighbouring region or even to the other end of the country if needed. Payment is possible only by bank card or Transport Wallet. IDS JMK tickets valued at up to CZK 500 are linked only to the payment medium used. OneTicket, VDV, and IDS JMK tickets costing more than CZK 500 are issued in paper form.
