TICKET INSPECTION
Before you contact us, find out which entity has checked you. This is indicated on the ticket inspection report. You must deal with this body if you have a claim. Ticket inspection in Brno public transport is carried out by the Brno City Transport Company. Controls on trains and regional buses are carried out by KORDIS JMK.

Fare surcharges - uniform rules for the entire IDS JMK
1,500 CZK
The amount of the surcharge for travelling without a valid travel document in the vehicle and on the train is CZK 1,500 + a flat fare of CZK 25. The passenger has 30 working days to pay the claim.
1,000 CZK
If the passenger pays the surcharge in cash on the spot, the surcharge is reduced to CZK 1,000 + a flat fare of CZK 25. There is no appeal against a fine paid in cash.
50 CZK
In the case of purchasing a travel document on board a train from an Authorised Person at a station where there is a functional validator, or where the physical sale of IDS JMK travel documents is arranged before the train departs, or where the train is equipped with a machine for the sale of travel documents, the amount of the surcharge to the fare is CZK 50. In the event that the passenger does not actively request the sale of a travel document at the latest at the moment of the first arrival of the Authorised Person, the amount of the surcharge is always set at CZK 1,500.
50 CZK
If the passenger proves within 10 calendar days that he/she was the holder of a valid prepaid ticket at the time of the inspection, he/she shall pay CZK 50 (CZK 100 at the DPMB auditor). The date and time of the valid ticket must be earlier than the date and time of the fine. It is not possible to present single tickets, including universal, single-day and multi-day tickets. Passengers proving eligibility for the discount shall provide proof of identity to prove age. In the case of students, only the ISIC card will be accepted. For journeys not involving public transport in Brno, it is sufficient to present an orange student card in the national pattern.
1,000 CZK
The amount of the surcharge for breaches of the Contractual Conditions of Carriage other than for travel without a valid ticket.
The surcharge will not apply in the following cases
- when you buy a ticket from a ticket machine on the train;
- in the event of a purchase of a travel document on board a train from an Authorised Person at a station where the validator was not in operation or the physical sale of documents was not ensured prior to the departure of the train, and the train is not equipped with a functioning ticket vending machine;
- if a passenger over 70 years of age at the latest at the time of the first arrival of the Authorised Person actively requests the sale of a 24-hour ticket for a person over 70 years of age;
- if the passenger intends to use the IDS JMK travel document on the train to connect to another valid travel document issued under a different tariff without interrupting the journey and requests the sale of the IDS JMK travel document from the Authorised Person before reaching the last station of validity of the travel document issued under a different tariff;
- in the event that the passenger intends to purchase a travel document from the Authorised Person on board the train in accordance with the OneTicket - Single Tariff System tariff and the train is not equipped with a vending machine and at the same time the physical sale of these travel documents has not been ensured at the departure station.
How to pay a penalty imposed by KORDIS JMK (red or green protocol)
In accordance with the valid wording of Act No. 266/1994 Coll., on Railways, or Act No. 111/1994 Coll., on Road Transport, the passenger is obliged to pay the fare and the surcharge to the fare.

By bank transferBy bank transfer to the account of KORDIS JMK, a.s., account number: 43-2427980297/0100. The surcharge can be sent to the KORDIS bank account either by bank transfer or by postal money order type A, or by direct deposit at a branch of Komerční banka. It is always necessary to include a variable symbol, which is the number of the ticket inspection record (a seven-digit number in the upper right corner). The date of birth serves as a specific symbol, and the constant symbol is 0179. |
Please note that debts not paid within 30 days may be assigned by KORDIS JMK to other entities after the debtor's last written notice. After the assignment of receivables, KORDIS JMK has no claims against the previous debtor, the debtor must communicate exclusively with the entity to which the receivables were assigned. The amount recovered can reach up to several times the original amount owed! KORDIS JMK, a.s. is not legally obliged to remind the passenger to pay the debt. The date of payment of the debt shall be deemed to be the date of credit to the account of KORDIS JMK, a.s. Further information

The authorized person is the driver, a carrier employee in uniform, and a person who identifies themselves with an IDS JMK inspection card or inspection badge. If they present a control badge, they will also present the inspector's control card upon request.
The green badge and pass are presented by KORDIS JMK auditors who inspect regional train and bus lines of IDS JMK and lines 1-99 operated by other IDS JMK carriers.
The blue badge and pass are presented by DPMB auditors who usually inspect the 1-99 lines operated by DPMB.
The authorized person is entitled to:
- give passengers instructions and orders to ensure safety and smoothness of transportation;
- check compliance with the transportation contract by passengers, particularly the validity of travel documents;
- decide on the method of checking travel documents;
- refuse or exclude a passenger from transportation if, despite warnings, they fail to comply with the Transport Regulations, Contractual Transport Conditions, or IDS JMK Tariff, or if they disregard instructions and orders from authorized personnel, litter the vehicle, disrupt the peaceful transportation of passengers with their behavior, or otherwise bother other passengers.
An authorized person with a control badge is entitled to:
- require payment of the fare supplement (hereinafter referred to as "supplement") from a passenger who fails to present a valid travel document, fails to comply with the Transport Regulations, Contractual Transport Conditions, or IDS JMK Tariff, or disregards instructions and orders from authorized personnel, litters the vehicle, disrupts the peaceful transportation of passengers with their behavior, or otherwise bothers other passengers; a passenger without a valid travel document is obliged to alight at the nearest stop after the end of the ticket inspection or purchase a valid travel document;
- collect the supplement in cash against a payment receipt;
- require the passenger to provide personal data stated in the document issued by the respective administrative authority necessary for the collection of the fare and supplement if the passenger has not paid on the spot.
Please note that passengers who fail to present a valid travel document according to the IDS JMK Tariff and do not pay the supplement in cash at the place of inspection will have their personal data recorded in the automated system of KORDIS JMK, a.s. in accordance with Section 5(2)(e) of Act No. 101/2000 Coll., on the Protection of Personal Data, as amended.
In order to increase the safety of passengers and Authorised Persons, an audio or visual recording of the communication between the Authorised Person or the carrier's employee and passengers may be made during the ticket inspection and also at contact points. The passenger shall be informed of the taking of the audio or visual recording.
